Creating a Dynamic, Knowledge-based Democracy

Marks the 150th anniversary of the passage of the Morrill Act establishing the land-grant universities and the establishment of the National Academy of Sciences, and the establishment, 25 years later, of the Carnegie libraries. Conference will be followed by a wreath-laying at the Lincoln Memorial to honor the vision and leadership of President Lincoln at a time of national crisis.
