Conservation Treatment of the Shah Jahan Namah
Know Your Preservation Storage Supply Options!
April 29, 2014
The 2013-2014 Harper-Inglis Memorial Trust for Preservation Fellow in Book Conservation, Tessa Gadomski, on the conservation treatment of a Persian manuscript, the Shah Jahan Namah [Complete History of the Emperor, Shah Jahan].
For Preservation Week in past years, the Library of Congress offered webinars and on-site workshops on how to easily and economically care for personal collections (covering books, photographs, paper documents, digital collections, and more). This year, the Preservation Directorate zereos in on preservation storage and housing supplies, focusing specifically on the preservation storage supply options at the Library. Preservation staff will cover questions including: How do I determine the best type of housing for my items/collections? How do I choose appropriate preservation housing supply materials? How do I go about getting preservation supplies?
Several of the Library's 2013 Preservation Week programs are available by streaming on demand, and include downloadable, printable resources and references.
